Clarkston High ~ Atlanta Yoga Movement: Our Sacred Obligation to Our Schools

Embody the dream in our schools.

Truth is the word, Love is the action.

By preparing all students, teachers, and administrators

to be in an optimal physical, emotional, and mental state

By teaching children how to cultivate a container of knowledge.

By creating learning environments that foster focused attention,

healthy habits, and deeper connections with others.

So Atlanta can work together to support peace and well-being in our schools.

~Atlanta Yoga Movement

Dr. Jones, the Principal at Clarkston High School, in DeKalb County School System treated her staff to a class of yoga during a week of year end testing.

Teachers, staff and administrators came in at the end of the day tired and ready to relax.

The auditorium quickly filled with balance and love, while Cheryl Crawford, the founder of Grounded Kids Yoga and The Atlanta Yoga Movement

helped guide them through smoothing out their breath, expanding in their hearts and gaining more awareness.

Imagine a world with yoga in all schools.

Peace would trickle down from the administration, to the staff, to the students, into our homes, and into the community.  All would be left rested and rejuvenated.

As the school year comes to an end…

May you continue breathing wider as you expand, with mind wider and voice wider so you’ll laugh more and rest easy all summer long.

Thank you to Cheryl Crawford for asking me to capture this heartfelt class and to Dr. Jones, principal of Clarkston High School,

for welcoming me and for treating your staff with love and kindness.  You are an inspiration to all.

Peace & Light,

Kelley Sue
